Tell me simply came from the frustration of the sustainability world. There are so many idea and ideals that even the people working in the industry get confused. For example if we're supporting local then maybe we're not supporting fair trade in developing countries, or saving energy by buying energy saver light bulbs but then they are filled with toxic gas that's polluting the land when people throw them away. So this song was written with that same frustration, confusion and irratic vibe. We hope you enjoy.
In this song we use a very dirty word, "frack.' This comes from the mining technique currently being used called fracking. Miners pump a whole load of chemicals underground which gets gas out of the rocks. We're only faeries, so we don't make big decisions and sometimes the decisions humans make confuse our little brains. But, we do wonder why it's been allowed to pump nasty chemicals under the ground where water is. There's been many mishaps from fracking where water and land has been destroyed, and yet it's continued. We don't understand why some humans think this is ok, so we sing "what the frack." If you don't understand either then we invite you to sing along with us.
lyrics
Greenhouse, natural gas
Light bulbs, burning mass
Carbon price, climate change
Fossil fuels, it’s all the same
Burn coal
Light fire
Turn it up
It’s getting hotter
Stop this, don’t do that
Go green, what the frack
eat right, ride your bike
Look left, take a hike
Chorus
Oh-oh it’s all too hard
I wanna change the world
but where do I start
Everyday you’re pushing me
I wanna help the world
So tell me simply
Organic, home grown
Fair trade, Aussie owned
Recycle this, reuse that
Boycott, restrain your cat
Green thumbs
Grow veg
Feed worms
Raise a garden bed
Save water, fix the tap
Drip fed, wicking bed
Slow down, Hug a tree
Rooibos, compost tea
Chorus
I said a oooh
ahhhh
La dee dah
Oh oh ahh
Hug a tree
Save the bees
I said a oooh
ahhh
La dee dah
Ohhh ah ah
What the frack
Take it back
Chorus
It's easy can't you see
It just takes you and me
It just takes you and me
Power down, solar up
Wind farm, bio cup
Opshops, market stalls
Street fairs, Straw walls
Hope rising, People power
Global change, vital hour
Wings rising, loving care
standup, you’re the change
Follow your heart
You know what to do
